- Before this lucky adventure, I worked at a car dealership in Southern Vermont doing Internet stuff to pay the bills and was active and involved in making my home town a better place. My joy in life has come from being involved in the community and volunteering as a photography instructor to teens at a non-profit photo project one street down from the best downtown apartment on the planet. When I was faced with the double wammy of losing my day job and my dream job in the same week, I took the advice of a dear friend to listen to the universe and travel. Thus begins my odyssey.

It sounds like everyone is taking care of you. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I told you that is how you are and I admire that. I actually had this weird feeling over the weekend that your bike got or would get stolen. I was creeped out when I read the blog that it actually happened. I had this feeling to call you to tell you to lock it up. Well you certainly are getting help and good publicity from this…hmmmm…maybe they will make a movie out of this or you could write a book and put your pictures in it ?????

If you are travelling counter clockwise then you will go through Parrsboro, my home town. Stop into Home Hardware and ask about a trip with Randy. Tell them I sent you. Great prices on bikes.lol.Randy will be one of many with whom interests you both share. The "Glooscap Trail" is vast and awesome. Hope you have loads of time!!

Bob , sorry to here of your miss adventures . There is something good about the people from NS . I too just lost my job and I am on my way to NS to see so family and maybe if I get lucky i will make it to Newfoundland.

Hi Bob, I'm not sure if you are still in Amherst, but if you are, please contact me. I see lots of offerings of assistance, and I would like to add ours. I represent DeMolay Atlantic Canada, an international boys youth group, and I am based in Moncton, not far away from Amherst. My conterpart in Vermont sent me an e-mail asking if we could offer you a bit of assistance. When I asked a couple of the boys what they thought, they decided we should offer to assist. In the current climate, of young people being tarred with the same brush of a few, such as the ones possibly involved in your current dilema, it's nice to know there are still young men out there willing to streach out their hand to help and support their fellowmen in times of need. Funny, last week, the question came up in my mind, too: what does Bob do with his stuff when he has to go indoors? Well, I figured, he probably has a small bag with his wallet and papers in it that he takes with him, and maybe the camera too. And he probably sits where he can keep an eye on his bike. Next thing you know I am reading about the theft. What a blow.
I was thinking it's a good thing you didn't bring a computer with you because that would have been stolen too. Then I realized that if you'd had a computer with a wi-fi connection you wouldn't have needed to go into the library in the first place. Keep blogging. Send a link to Kellogg's corn flakes.
